Start Up:
To begin, sit in the seat of the unit, and turn the ignition key switch to the on position. At this point the vehicle will not start. The Fleet Online Unit will then power up, and request you to swipe your access card.
If the access card is allowed, the screen will respond with “Access Granted” and proceed. If the card is not permitting the access, the unit will respond with “Access Denied” and then return to the initial screen. If no pre-operational check is required, the screen will prompt you to start the engine.
Pre-Operational Checklist:
The pre-operational checklist can be configured to start up after a shift change or daily. When a pre-operational check is required, the unit will ask you to answer a series of questions about the condition of the forklift, to ensure that the vehicle is safe to operate. Continue through the first screen by pressing the right button. Responses to questions are entered by touching either the left or right buttons. To answer OK, touch the point below the tick symbol; to indicate a fault touch the point below the cross symbol.
If there is a fault you wish to record, touch the corresponding point below the cross symbol. A confirmation page will display. Select ‘Continue’ to confirm the fault, or ‘Back’ if you have made an error.
The checklist will then continue through the remaining questions. At the completion of the checklist, the unit will prompt you to fasten your seatbelt, and then to start the engine.
Weight Indicator:
You can access the weight indicator page if required by scrolling using the right button. To operate the weight indicator, first lift the load to the top mark on the level indicator displayed on the mast, and then slowly lower the load to the second line. The weight will be displayed on the screen.
Please note that the weight indicator is designed to be an indicative mass only. When used correctly, the displayed weight should be within 5 – 7% of the actual load weight.
Fleet Online Unit Time Out
The unit will time out after the operator leaves the seat. To operate the vehicle again after a time out, a swipe card will be required. The screen will prompt for the required action.
Speed Readout with Over Speed Alert
If the vehicle exceeds a pre-set limit, the Fleet Online Unit will display a “Slow Down” prompt. The warning will repeat until the vehicle slows to a speed below the set limit.
Overload Warning
If the weight measured on the tines exceeds a pre-set limit the Fleet Online Unit will display a “Overload” prompt. The warning will repeat until the registered load is below the limit set.
Seatbelt Warning
If the seatbelt is removed during operation, and the seat remains occupied, the Fleet Online Unit will display a “Fasten Seatbelt” prompt. This warning will remain until the seatbelt is fastened or the seat is vacated.
Impact Event
If the forklift experiences an impact greater than the first stage limit the Fleet Online Unit will register an impact and its details. The Impact screen will automatically be displayed describing the latest incident. If the forklift experiences an impact greater than the second stage limit, the Fleet Online Unit will register an impact and begin a timed shutdown of the unit. The Fleet Online Unit will display the prompt “Critical Impact – Vehicle Shut Down in X Seconds” and continue to count down until finally shutting down the unit. Once a critical shutdown has occurred, only a supervisor or technician can restart the unit.
